In a natural setting, the ground is filled with various mycorrhizae which form symbiotic relationships with the roots of virtually all the plants on Earth. To encourage this partnership, Ho Yoku is offering a special blend of spores from seventeen different beneficial species of fungi in our Myconox Mycorrhizal Inoculant.
Especially with bonsai, mycorrhizae symbiosis ranges from supportive to absolutely necessary when it comes to easy absorption of moisture and nutrients.
As an example in trees, members of the pine genus are dependent on mycorrhizae for survival, and when deprived of this symbiosis, the tree will continue to weaken until the soil repopulates with the microflorae it needs, or until the tree dies.
Scientific studies have proven that plants with healthy mycorrhizae populations in their root systems are more resilient against stress and disease. Often manifesting as masses of thin white strands in the soil, these microflorae are the unsung heroes of tree and plant vigor.
Different species of bonsai have their own preferred variety of mycorrhizae that they are symbiotic with, and it can be difficult to play matchmaker individually. As such, Ho Yoku’s Myconox Inoculant provides the seventeen different species of mycorrhizae in each pinch of our product to create more chances for success.
Among the seventeen microflorae are nine endo-class fungi and eight more ecto-class fungi. While Myconox Mycorrhizal Inoculant is particularly suited for inorganic bonsai aggregate substrates, it can even be added to flower and vegetable gardens where it can increase productivity and health.
Directions:
Ho Yoku Myconox Mycorrhizal Inoculant is suitable for application at any time, but it is most desirable before, during, or after, a bonsai is repotted. Â The spore powder can be dusted directly onto damp, exposed, roots of bonsai and plants; blended into soil prior to use; or inserted as a line around the perimeter of a container where it can slip down into the pot.
Successful symbiosis does not require large amounts of spore powder. Once a small amount (approximately ¼ teaspoon of powder for an average size bonsai tree) is introduced into the soil or root system, the fungi will do the rest. If happily coupled, mycorrhizae will spread naturally.
Caution:
Use only as directed. Keep away from children and pets.
Each 2oz jar of Ho Yoku Myconox Mycorrhizal Inoculant comes ready to use with seventeen different species of fungi spores. This powder can be kept for up to 24 months before it is no longer viable.
